Governor Joe Lombardo Applauds Mosey Solar Project Moving Forward in Southern Nevada
NEVADA, July 30 - LAS VEGAS — Governor Joe Lombardo today applauded the decision by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) within the U.S. Department of the Interior to move forward with another solar project, the Mosey Solar Project, in Southern Nevada.
"I want to thank the Energy Dominance Council and the Department of the Interior for advancing the Mosey Solar Project and continuing to work with us on responsible energy development in Nevada,” said Governor Lombardo. My office has been actively engaged with the federal government to help move this project, and others, toward approval because expanding Nevada's energy capacity is essential to supporting our state's continued growth. This 500-megawatt renewable power project will strengthen our energy grid, create good-paying jobs, and deliver lasting economic benefits to southern Nevada."
The latest project to advance through the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) permitting process is the Mosey Solar Project, which will provide a 500-megawatt solar energy facility with battery storage on approximately 3,523 acres of BLM-managed public land in Clark and Nye counties. The site is located approximately 10 miles southeast of Pahrump, 30 miles west of Las Vegas, and 2 miles south of State Route 160.
Since December 2025, the federal government has worked with the Lombardo administration in advancing major solar projects in Nevada, including the Libra Solar, Boulder Solar III, Dry Lake East, Purple Sage, and now Mosey Solar. Together, these projects represent nearly 2 gigawatts of new renewable energy generation that will help meet Nevada's growing energy demand while supporting economic development.
