Preserving Nevada’s history is at the heart of what we do in the Imaging and Preservation Services unit at the Nevada State Library, Archives & Public Records. Our team specializes in digitizing culturally and historically significant materials, from fragile manuscripts to oversized maps, photographs, and government records, ensuring they remain accessible for generations to come.

Using specialized equipment and preservation‑focused workflows, we handle delicate and aging documents with care. A recent example is our digitization of an 1863 muster roll, a rare piece of Nevada’s early military and territorial history out of Fort Churchill. By creating high‑quality digital images, we help protect the original artifact while making it easier for researchers, educators, and the public to explore its contents.
